Overview of Church Security

A robust church security and fire strategy is crucial to protect buildings and precious artefacts from theft and vandalism. Not only can such acts have severe financial implications, but they can have a detrimental impact on a community.

There are many elements to implementing a Church security and fire solution, which can include the following:

  • An intruder alarm system;
  • A roof alarm system;
  • CCTV cameras;
  • A fire detection and alarm system;
  • Access control;
  • Keyholding;
  • A monitoring service for alarms and / or CCTV.

The level of risk posed will determine which security and fire detection measures are implemented. However, in our experience one of the most commonly specified security systems for Churches is our roof alarm system.

Theft of lead, copper and zinc from roofs not only have the obvious financial implications, but can make a Church building vulnerable to rain damage. This has the potential to cause long-term structural problems. To help reduce the risk of this, we have developed a truly unique roof alarm for church security that supports intruder alarm technology with video verification CCTV. As this system is wireless it requires no changes to the fabric of the building and has been designed to fit discreetly.
