| An ‘intelligent cctv’ system developed by the Israeli government is set to revolutionise remote monitoring in commercial applications, according to security experts. Video Analytical Detection Systems – or VADS for short – work in conjunction with a cctv camera and can be programmed to recognise certain activities within a setting. That could mean distinguishing an intruder from the movement of undergrowth in the wind; identifying wrongly parked vehicles or spotting whether someone has left a package behind. READ MORE | |

| When security guard Jim Macfadyen retired this year, he’d clocked up ten years with GB Security Group. More unusually he’d spent the whole time on site for just one customer –Bifrangi in Lincoln, where GB Security Group has provided cover since 1999. It’s a long term relationship all round, but things haven’t stood still at the Bifrangi site over the past decade. As well as manned guarding, a recent security review by GB Security Group resulted in a completely integrated solution for the 20 acre site, which is helping to cut theft, reduce costs and bring in working efficiencies.
