CASE STUDY
Timber Suppliers – John Brash
Intruder Alarms
A well established close working relationship has existed between the two companies for a number of years. John Brash occupy a prominent market position in the U.K timber industry and place particular emphasis on such product as roofing batten, scaffold board, Anti Slip + decking and a range of joinery cladding products. Originally GB Security Group provided an intruder alarm package for the John Brash, Gainsborough site, with the added addition of RED CARE remote monitoring.
This relationship has grown still further in the last two years; now the Gainsborough site has benefited from significant capital investment in its processing equipment; culminating in the recent launch of a fully graded roofing batten; the first of its kind in Europe. Initially John Brash, following a full site wide risk assessment, established that an improvement in the sites fire alarm system would not only provide additional security for the companies 150 staff but would importantly provide greater protection for key pieces of processing equipment. Thereafter the two companies worked closely together creating a detailed joint feasibility study considering the equipment choice for a factory wide zoned fire alarm system system. Traditional “break glass” call points have now been augmented with the addition of smoke detection sensors, an automatic “electronic” interface with specialist equipment spark detection sensors and last, but not least, a link directly to “RED CARE”.
Jim Boon, John Brash’s Engineering Manager, commented that he is delighted with the close working relationship between the two companies; adding that GB Security Group, provided a significant improvement in the sites safety standards at realistic cost; a win win situation for John Brash Ltd!
The solution is very effective and, looked at over a 5 year period, a fraction of the cost of a uniformed guarding presence.
