When John Mann International moved their operations to a new purpose built site in Sleaford they asked the GB Security Group to recommend a ‘Total Security Solution’ to protect the site and premises.

The Proposal, accepted by JMI, takes advantage of the latest security technology and GBSG’s unique services. GBSG not only installed all the security systems, but also its Remote Video Response Centre provided CCTV monitoring and access control services, and its Construction Division provided all the civil works required for the installation of the security system’s infrastructure.

The solution includes intruder detection devices, remotely monitored CCTV cameras utilising the latest high speed colour dome cameras, site Tannoy facility and a remotely monitored access control system with mechanised gates. To handle out of hours visitors a proximity tag and intercom system was incorporated. The integration of all these products allows the control room to have full visual control of the site, allowing or denying access, with access to the site is restricted solely to authorised visitors. The overt nature of the systems installed is of course a deterrent. Should an intruder not be deterred and attempt to gain access to the site, his presence will be immediately detected and observed by the CCTV operators who can broadcast a loud warning message over the tannoy system.

If necessary, the police can be called and, because of the nature of the incident and the information they are receiving, they will respond with more resources and speed than to a conventional alarm activation.

The solution is very effective and, looked at over a 5 year period, is a fraction of the cost of a uniformed guarding presence.
