There are a wide range of systems and options available and as a result we always provide a free site survey to provide a bespoke system that fully suits your needs.

How do I get GBSG to specify a system that I know will work?

What options do I have for payment?

Flexible options are available regarding method of payment. As well as standard payment (options include cheque, credit card or BACS), we also offer direct debit, rental and leasing contracts. We can discuss these in detail when we make a proposal.

Glossary

Descriptions of commonly found intruder alarm terms:

Bell Box

An external sounder providing an audible alert when the alarm is triggered. Also provides a deterrent to thieves by alerting that an intruder alarm is present.

Central Station

A monitoring station receiving and acting on alarm signals sent from remotely monitored alarm. Are able to call police, keyholders and system installers to attend to the alarm systems.

Control Panel

The central part of the system, which controls the system and activates alarms.

Detector

A device used to signal to the control panel if there is any movement in its range. Most detectors are now Dual Technology, combining Passive Infra-Red with Microwave or Ultrasound, providing greater stability and as a result less false alarms.

DualCom

A remote monitoring technology provided by Vodafone allowing signals to be sent to a central station.

Keypad

A input device that allows the user to set, unset and perform additional functions on the system.

Monitored System

A system that sends a signal to a monitoring station when activated.

Personal Attack Alarm

A method of manually activating the alarm by a person witnessing a crime or in danger. This alarm activation is treated by police as the highest priority, providing rapid response.

Redcare

A remote monitoring technology provided by BT allowing signals to be sent to a central station.

Smoke System

An optional extra allowing a smoke making device to be fitted to the system. When the alarm is triggered the smoke maker is triggered, filling the area with smoke, making it very difficult for an intruder to carry out a theft.

Wireless systems

The use of wireless technology as a communication method between system components reducing the requirement to run cabling (mains cable is still required to provide power to some components – others may be battery powered).

Zone

A specified area that can be separately controlled by the system. Allows for different areas to be alarmed and disarmed for better control and performance.
