Providing Fire Security at Fiskerton Church of England Primary School
We began working with Fiskerton Church of England Primary School in 2013 when we took over the running of their existing fire system through winning the contract with Mouchel Business Services.
In October 2014 we were approached by Mouchel to quote for a potential upgrade and extension of the school’s existing fire system due to a refurbishment programme. After a review of the school’s needs with the school and Mouchel, we upgraded the fire system to include call points on all exit routes and external doors, in addition to installing automatic fire detection. Fire warning devices were fitted throughout the premises.
The fire alarm system has been upgraded in accordance with British Standard BS 5839 pt1:2013, category L4 and encompasses both smoke and heat detectors. In the event of a call point being pressed, or detector activating, the access controlled doors automatically release and all warning devices that are fitted, both sound and flash. If a mains failure were to occur, the fire alarm system has been designed to operate from automatically recharged batteries for a maximum of 24 hours.
The installation of the upgraded fire alarm system was carried out after teaching hours, with our team of engineers working after the hours of 3.30pm and at weekends.
