What are your opening times?
Our main office is open from 8 am until 5 pm Monday to Friday (not including bank holidays). Our control room team, emergency repair engineers and mobile patrols work 24/7, 365 days a year.
What geographic area do you cover?
GBSG provide national coverage to a number of sectors, including: solar farms, the Caravan and Motorhome Club and Churches. We also work closely with a wide variety of local clients, throughout the East Midlands and Anglia.
Do you offer free quotes?
Yes, we undertake free site surveys and then provide you with a full no obligation quotation. We always talk to our customers so we can fully understand their requirements, that way we can offer the best priced systems that will meet all of their needs. For some sites that do not require a survey, you still receive full specification costs and details of your proposed system.
How long does a security and safety survey take?
How long a survey takes really depends on the size of the property and the complexity of the system that is required. Most surveys take around an hour or less.
What accreditations does GBSG hold?
We are independently assessed by the UK’s leading security and fire safety bodies, including the NSI, SIA, BSIA and BAFE®; so all of our surveys, installs and monitoring and maintenance are delivered to the highest standards. Are you SIA accredited?
Yes, we hold SIA licensing for our control-room and all Guarding staff.
Are you NSI Accredited?
GBSG are approved to the NSI Gold standard, ensuring that we work to the highest industry standards demanded by the Police, Fire and Rescue Services as well as insurers.
Are you BAFE accredited?
Yes, GBSG are approved to the BAFE® adopted SP203-1 scheme, for designing, installing, commissioning, handing over and maintaining of fire detection and alarm systems.
Are you BSIA accredited?
Yes, we are members of the BSIA trade association for the professional security industry in the UK.
What's covered by a GBSG maintenance contract?
We offer comprehensive maintenance contracts for our alarms, CCTV and access control systems. You can find out more details by visiting our maintenance page.
What's the benefit of having a maintenance contract?
A maintenance contract helps to prolong the life of your security and fire system. A system working in optimum condition will always give you the best results. Having a contract also means you receive priority for emergency call-outs related to your system.
What kind of alarms do you provide?
We provide fire and intruder alarms as well as business critical alarms.
How much is an intruder alarm system?
The cost of an alarm system, depends on the type of property and also any specific features that you might need. We undertake a free site survey to ensure you have the right system for your property.
Why should I get an intruder alarm?
As well as providing an audible signal that an intruder has entered tour property. Alarm systems also give a visual deterrent. Having an alarm, also helps to shows insurers that you are taking steps to secure your property.
Do you provide alarms with a police response?
Yes, we provide alarms with a police response.

How long do the batteries last in an intruder alarm system?
Batteries in an alarm system, should last for around two years. However, excessive use or poor signal strength can affect battery life. We recommend that your batteries are replaced every two years. If you have a maintenance contract with us, we will check and if necessary, replace your batteries when we service your system.
What is a monitored alarm?
A monitored alarm, sends an alert into our monitoring station. Our monitoring staff are then able to call the police and your keyholders – should action need to be taken. To find out more about monitoring – click here.
How much will a CCTV system cost?
The cost of the CCTV system, will depend on a number of factors including the type and number of cameras that your stem requires. We tailor every CCTV ssytem to your specific needs and the price will be based on the right system to provide you with the best solution.
Can I view my CCTV system from my phone or tablet?
Yes, you can view footage from your CCTV system on any smart device. You can also get a number of alerts through GBSG Pulse(R).
Can you expand an existing system?
We make sure all of our systems are future-proof, so that they can be added to and developed as your needs change.
Do you install CCTV systems?
We supply and install a variety of CCTV systems, that are suitable for both businesses and homes. We also have a variety of specialist systems, which we have developed to suit the needs of specific customers.

What type of cameras do you install?

Do you fit CCTV in homes?
Yes, we do. Our CCTV cameras and installations are of a high industry standard, but that same technology can be applied to protecting your home.

Yes, we have a 24/7 call-out service for emergency repairs – for all of our contracted customers.

Yes, we provide monitoring services for CCTV, fire and intruder alarms all from our NSI Gold control room offers active security prevention, taken care of by our SIA approved team based at the heart of our head office.

Do you install fire detection and alarms for schools?

What type of fire alarms do you install?
We install a range of fire alarm systems, but we do specialise in the design of fire alarms and detection for commercial and public premises.
Do you install fire systems to a certain standard?
Yes, all of Our systems meet BS5839-1: 2017, adapted to the BAFE® adopted SP203-1 scheme for designing, commissioning, installing, maintaining and handing over of fire alarms and detection systems.
Do you fit addressable fire systems?
We fit addressable systems and also can create zones. Our skilled surveyors work with you so that you get the exact system that you need for your building.
Are your systems able to control equipment?
Yes, our systems can be configured so that they can control equipment: such as lifts, fire shutters, ventilation and air conditioning units.
Can I extend my system?
We design our systems so that they are future-proof, this means that they can expand and grow with you.
