Due to the often remote and isolated locations of solar farms, security is fundamental to providing site protection against theft and vandalism. Our focus is on securing the perimeter through a network of CCTV cameras with detection software, and supplying this with a comprehensive remote CCTV monitoring package.
We recommend that solar farm security systems are designed, installed and monitored to BS 8418 standards, the code of practice used for installing and monitoring detector activated CCTV systems remotely. Not only does this ensure a priority Police response, but it means you can satisfy insurance needs. GBSG worked closely with BSI to help define these standards.Â

Security for existing solar farms
If you already have security installed, we can support you through a full monitoring and maintenance package.
We have our own purpose-built Remote Video Response Centre (RVRC) which is fully approved to the highest NSI Gold standard, meaning that we are fully accredited for the monitoring of BS 8418 detector activated CCTV systems used in security applications.
From a maintenance perspective we offer remote system health checks (for IP CCTV cameras) and routine site visits, supported by a 24-hour engineer call-out service. We also work with our clients to ensure the continuity of security provisions in the event of a power failure.
