If you are considering installing a security system to protect your company or organisation you will need to ask questions about your security provider, the personnel they have at their disposal, and the on-going training and development that they have in place.
As a minimum you should check:
Engineering support team
The Engineering team schedule all installations and maintenance and monitoring visits. The team will also be responsible for providing Engineers should you have a fault that needs fixing or an alarm call-out. The team should ensure that all jobs have the correct stock and signage and should be your point of contact if you have queries about installation dates, an engineer’s visit or any questions or problems relating to this.
Technical Support and Helpdesk
The technical and Helpdesk teams who support the engineers and customers. As well as looking after all technical training needs the team will prepare the equipment for site and will also look at new and emerging technologies. This is the team you will need to speak to when you need some technical assistance.
The Engineers
Make sure your security company has sufficient installation, servicing and maintenance engineers. They will need to be fully trained on all security systems and also have had full screening and health and safety training so they are able to easily access a wide variety of sites.
The Control Room
The control room team will be responsible for looking after all alarm activations and challenging intruders as well as alerting emergency services and keyholders. They carry out all remote guarding duties, including opening gates and barriers. The team also ensure that sites can be monitored and report any faults to the Helpdesk and Engineering team. The team work 24/7 for 365 days a year.
Health & Safety
The HSEQ Manager oversees all Health and Safety and Quality systems. The HSEQ Manager is responsible for any RAMS required and any issues arising from H & S.
