What is a SMART security system?
Smart Security uses a smart phone, computer or other device to control all your security system devices. On a phone, the user simply downloads an app and can access a range of CCTV images, alerts and information in the palm of their hand.
GBSG’s new integrated smart security system enables users to control all of their devices and systems from a keypad, keyfob, or a remote app. The company also offers extended safety barriers, alerts that go straight to the user or the company’s monitoring station, photo verification snaps, sirens, simple installation and much more.
Further advances in external security also allow the use of video verification devices to protect the exterior of properties such as commercial compounds, residential gardens and driveways. This can offer oversignt and protection of items such as motor homes, motorbikes, expensive cars or boats where the system will trigger and provide video verification alarms or activations. This immediately gives real time warning and alerts rather than just recording footage for later. It can also trigger alarms, lighting, even close gates to prevent intruders from leaving.
Which devices can be connected to a SMART system?
- Main hubs – there are multiple hubs available that can work simultaneously with a whole security system, including Intruder alarm, motion sensors, fire, smoke and water detectors and CCTV cameras. The hubs are the base of the system and will allow users to control each individual part accordingly.
- Range extenders – range extenders allow users to have a larger protected area within the property. With just 5 of these devices, it is possible to get coverage of up to 35km2. And if the barrier is broken by an intruder, an alert and instant snapshot will be sent to our monitoring station within 10 seconds.
- Fully remote app usage – This allows users to control and receive alerts for the entire system through an app. This includes, arming and disarming a property from wherever they are, receiving notifications for water leaks, intruders and smoke detection. It is possible to receive a snapshot of the area the alert came from.
- Opening and glass break detectors – opening detectors are easily installed to any type of door or window, meaning the user can now leave a window open when they are not in the room. With these new devices, there is a built-in accelerometer which can detect vibrations and the angle of the window to detect an intruder climbing through. With glass breaking detectors, there are fewer false alarms with a specific microphone that detects the vibrations of glass breaking. A dog barking, for example wouldn’t trigger it.
