At GBSG we specialise in providing advanced solar security solutions and a recent incident perfectly showcased how our systems and teams respond when it matters most.
Our CCTV monitoring service was recently put to the test at a solar farm site and thanks to swift action by our skilled operators, a potentially concerning situation was handled quickly and professionally.
It began when our cameras detected an unauthorised individual entering the site. Three dogs were also spotted near the gate, immediately triggering concern. In line with our service level protocols, the system issued two automatic audio warnings, alerting the intruder that the area was under live surveillance. That wasn’t the end of it, though. Recognising the potential threat, our monitoring team took swift action, alerting both our local keyholder and the local police to ensure a fast, coordinated response. The individual initially left the site but soon returned with another person—prompting continued monitoring and immediate escalation.
Thanks to real-time footage, instant alerts and coordination, both our keyholder and the police were on-site within moments. After a full investigation, it was found the individuals were searching for a lost dog and meant no harm. So there wasn’t any damage, nothing was stolen and no further action taken by the police.
While the incident turned out to be harmless, it clearly highlights the effectiveness of GBSG’s solar security systems.
“At GBSG, we understand the unique challenges of securing remote and high-value solar sites. This incident reinforces why 24/7 CCTV monitoring tailored to renewables is not just a precaution—it’s a necessity,” Neil Jackson, MD, GBSG.
