Heat detection helps to keep produce fresh

Heat detection helps to keep produce fresh – Richard Hardy (Vegetables Ltd)

For Richard Hardy (Vegetables) Ltd, a state of the art control system is securing high value agricultural machinery and 10,000 one tonne boxes of potatoes in cold stores at their site in Boston, Lincolnshire.

The control system incorporates: intruder functions, CCTV and heat detection and replaces an old locally recorded camera system. With a BS8418 standard remotely monitored CCTV and infrared lighting, the new system provides round the clock surveillance by the GBSG control room team.

As well as monitoring for intruders, the heat detectors in each of the eleven cold stores are designed to trigger CCTV cameras for visual verification by the control room.
