GBSG invests in Civil Infrastructure to Boost Renewable Energy Security

Spalding-based GBSG Ltd, a leading security provider, has announced a major investment in civil engineering infrastructure and manpower to enhance its capabilities in the fast-growing renewable energy sector.

The investment comes as part of GBSG’s ongoing commitment to delivering end-to-end, high-performance renewable energy security solutions for solar farms, battery storage facilities and other green infrastructure projects throughout the UK.

Commenting, Neil Jackson, MD, said, “As the renewable energy sector accelerates, so do the complexities of protecting these sites and their vital assets. Our investment ensures we can rapidly deploy, install and maintain advanced renewable energy security systems on remote sites where these projects typically are.”

The company has expanded its fleet of machinery, including trenchers, diggers and plant machinery to enable the team to deliver the essential groundwork required for CCTV, perimeter detection systems and other embedded security infrastructure. The company has also grown its workforce with new skilled civil labourers and is also recruiting a Civils Lead Engineer.

It is hoped that the improvements in infrastructure will enable GBSG to reduce installation timeframes, cut dependency on third-party suppliers and improve the overall quality of work carried out.

With over 300 solar farms already protected, GBSG is widely recognised as one of the UK’s leading security specialists for the renewables sector. The company offers temporary rapid deployment security and permanent security systems, including remote monitoring and remote guarding.

“It’s not just about cameras anymore,” said Neil. Our renewables clients expect us to understand the engineering context and deliver solutions that work within the landscape and the environment. This investment gives us the capability to do this and at scale.”
