Forty Years in the making

In 1984 GB Alarms began and its first large CCTV install was undertaken. Stephen Wright (Chairman) joined George Barnsdale and Sons and created GB Alarms. When Neil Jackson (Managing Director/Partner) joined in 1990, the company won its first big guarding contract and ever since then the business has flourished and grown. 10 years after the beginning of GB Alarms, the monitoring station was up and running and the company began installing and remotely monitoring CCTV systems.

In 2009 GB Alarms was rebranded to become GBSG, and just 3 years later had its first fully integrated alarm and RVRC when it had ESI software installed in the control room. It started its first solar farm installation, which has led on to many solar farms around the UK being secured by the company. In 2017 GBSG became the largest provider of solar farm security in the UK and also expanded into mainland Europe with remotely monitored detection activated CCTV.

In 2019  GBSG had its 35th birthday and then the world suffered from the Corona Virus. The business stayed strong throughout the pandemic and spent the following period catching  up on all missed works and maintenance projects.

This year, the company is celebrating its 40th birthday as a business. It has added a ruby shield to its brand for the entire year and has planned events and staff appreciation days throughout.
